ABOUT US The Primary School is expanding the boundaries of traditional education. Our holistic model weaves together education, health, and family support services to ensure underserved children have the system of care they need to lead meaningful and emotionally, mentally, and physically healthy lives. The Primary School was founded in 2015, and we  received seed funding by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, a major national philanthropy.Our approach has three defining characteristics:We start early. We start working with parents and enroll children into our program as early as birth to reach them at their most critical stage in development. We work with - not around - families. We know that parents and caregivers are the most important people in a child’s life. We partner with them to enhance the education and health of their children. We integrate multiple systems to serve the whole child. Our unique model unites health care and education, building a multi-disciplinary team and holistic system of care around a child’s full needs. In 2016, we opened our flagship school in East Palo Alto, California, with our first class of four-year-olds. We have grown to serve nearly  300  children and their families via a 0-3 parent/child program, a preschool and elementary school.Our ultimate goal is to create a game-changing system of care for children that can be replicated across the country. To that end, we are building a model that can be effectively implemented in diverse communities and sustained on public funding. We are currently expanding our student and family population in East Palo Alto and opening to our next site in Hayward, California.  It’s an exciting time to join the team!ABOUT THE ROLE The Senior Associate of Special Projects reports to the Chief of Staff.  The Sr. Associate of Special Projects drives on cross-functional work streams related to strategy, planning, team development, internal communications, organizational culture, diversity, equity and inclusion and other strategic initiatives.  The role also supports administrative tasks for TPS’ Chief Executive Office and Chief Design Officer.As such, applicants must have strong communication skills, incredible attention to detail, be able to work independently and always be one step ahead. The person in this role will need to be a masterful problem-solver and a self-starter. ResponsibilitiesStrategy, Planning and Performance Management Collect and analyze KPI data to support reflection and data driven decision making Develop and maintain clear, actionable KPI dashboards that support annual and quarterly planning and performance management Support implementation of strategic planning (multi-year, annual and quarterly) processes Team Development, DEI, and Internal Communications Implement org-wide internal communication strategy (ex: weekly newsletters, town halls, etc.) in order to support clarity, mutual trust and team cohesion Support content development for leadership and all-staff retreats Support or lead implementation of culture initiatives at the organization level based on organizational health data and learnings Support development and implementation of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Plan through operations support, project management of initiatives and tracking implementation metricsSpecial Projects Partner with leaders across the organization to add capacity and lead select special projects that drive toward our organizational outcomesAdministrative Tasks Manage an array of administrative tasks for the CEO and Chief Design Officer that require you to organize logistics both in advance and with last-minute changes: wrangle hectic calendars and schedule meetings, book travel, file and copy materials, etc. Other tasks as requested, including but not limited to materials preparation and distribution, stepback logistics prep, visitor management, and event planning.QUALIFICATIONS 2+ years professional experience work in a fast-paced environment Experience collecting, cleaning and analyzing data to drive decision making Experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders Great organizational skills: a self-starter with strong foresight and time management skills; reliable; strong attention to detail Excellent communicator and interpersonal skills Passion for the mission of The Primary School and belief that all children and adults can achieve extraordinary thingsA Plus If You have ties or experience working in East Palo Alto or Belle Haven communities.COMPENSATION Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience, plus excellent health benefits, 401k retirement plan, flexible spending account (FSA), dependent care FSA, and generous paid time off, including a competitive paid parental leave benefit.
