About Code2040

Code2040 is a community of Black and Latinx technologists and their allies who are diversifying tech to create a more equitable, inclusive, and prosperous economy. Through high-impact direct service programs, robust in-person and online community engagement, and dynamic storytelling and knowledge sharing, Code2040 empowers and mobilizes diversity champions across the industry. Our goal is to ensure that by 2040---the beginning of the decade when the US will be majority people of color---Black and Latinx people are fully represented in and leading the innovation economy, and have the economic and social capital needed to thrive and build generational wealth.

About the Opportunity

Code2040's Fellows Program (FP) places high-performing Black and Latinx software engineering students in rigorous internships with top companies and provides them with mentorship, leadership training, and network development. In 2018, the FP will run three program sites: San Francisco/Oakland, Silicon Valley, and New York City.

The Fellows Program Implementation Coordinator (Silicon Valley Program Site) will report to the Fellows Program Implementation Manager and play a critical, on-the-ground direct service role in planning and bringing the Fellowship program components to life for Code2040 Fellows.

Planning for the summer is well underway. When hired, you will quickly hit the ground running to:

  • Learn the 8-week program and, together with the Implementation Manager, create a plan to translate and implement systems and operations to deliver an exemplary student experience.
  • Support Fellows in their transition to the Silicon Valley area, including with transportation and housing.
  • Plan for Welcome Weekend, the Fellowship launch event which takes place in June.
  • Plan for the Hackathon, the Fellowship event that takes place in July.
