We partner with schools, districts, and after-school programs to provide a service or mix of services including on-site coaches, professional training for school staff who support recess, and consultative partnershipsAbout the PositionThe Web Content Manager is responsible for the oversight of content management, design of web features, and coordination of developer initiatives for the organization’s websites, including playworks.org and recesslab.org.  The ideal candidate demonstrates flexibility and the ability to balance both national and regional projects while delivering high-quality work on tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills, ease in working with multiple, collaborative internal and external teams, and the ability to think critically and manage details are essential. The Web Content Manager is based within the marketing team, a collaborative body that supports organization-wide initiatives.Responsibilities
  • Design new/Update current web pages and create digital assets for the website.
  • Train and guide internal teams in content creation and publication within the content management system. Lead regions through the process of publishing content on the website and lead all administrative functions.
  • Manage external relationships and budget with back-end and website developers. In partnership with them, manage any major features or enhancements, bug fixes, and defect resolution.
  • Collaborate with the internal Solutions/IT team to effectively manage the back-end relationship between playworks.org, 3rd party donation portals and SaaS such as Classy, Form Assembly (or similar online form builder applications), and Salesforce systems. Salesforce integration experience a plus.
  • Control the security of the website, register and maintain domain names, monitor web server and technical performance, and secure hosting services.
  • Ideate new web features, applications, forms, user paths, and components from the requirements stage, to design, to production deployment on playworks.org and  recesslab.org.
  • Other projects as assigned.
 Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience managing websites and/or working knowledge of both website project management and content management using a robust open source CMS (proficiency with WordPress preferred).
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams made up of staff with varying technical knowledge. Nonprofit experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficient understanding of the web production process, including requirements gathering, wireframe and copy development, design, development tools and technologies, tracking strategies, quality assurance, and deployment management.
  • Demonstrable experience utilizing HTML for an organization’s website required and CSS preferred. Strong working knowledge of javascript preferred.
  • Strong understanding of digital and internet technologies including browsers, operating systems, email technology, and mobile platforms.
  • Experienced in developing custom reports, advanced segments, and goals using web analytics platforms (Adobe, Google) and tag management tools. Experience defining and measuring (A/B and multivariate testing) key performance indicators and using data to provide insights and make strategic business recommendations.
  • Strong familiarity with UX/UI design.
  • Experience devising digital content and promotion plans in support of marketing campaigns and strategic initiatives.
  • Understanding of SEO standards and practices.
  • Web agency relationship management experience preferred.

  • Self-directed learning and independent project management skills are essential to this position’s success.
