Summer School Geometry Advancement Instructor
The role of the Summer School Geometry Instructor, under the supervision of the Dean of Students, will be to facilitate and implement the Geometry advancement course, utilizing the curriculum provided by MWAUS.
Primary Responsibilities● Provide quality instruction and remediation to students in the Geometry advancement course, including:
o Familiarization with the curriculum provided by MWAUSo Lesson planning and implementation for each day of Summer School, creating lessons that are scaffolded to support student learning and engagemento Implement the use of SpringBoard curriculum including the administration of Embedded Assessmentso Developing a variety of graded assessments to evaluate student performance in accordance with Geometry standards● Uphold MWAUS Summer School policies and expectations:
o Attendance Policyo Behavioral Policyo Family notification regarding student progresso Supervision dutieso Friday Experiential Learning opportunitieso Grading Policy
● Minimum 1 year of working with groups of 20 or more ethnically and socioeconomically diverse students in a classroom, or after school setting● Undergraduate, graduate, or K-12 teaching experience● Undergraduate or graduate Geometry or Math background
● Ability to work collaboratively and independently● Consistency and timeliness● Professional and effective communication● Relationship building and classroom management skills for classroom with students of diverse backgrounds and varying academic skill levels● Family outreach
● Teaching credential or teaching intern credential required● Students that are currently in accredited education programs are encouraged to apply
