Summer School Enrichment Instructor

The role of the Summer School Enrichment Instructor, under the supervision of the Dean of Students, will be to propose, design and facilitate enrichment course curriculum and activities.

Primary Responsibilities

●        Provide quality enrichment instruction and activities for students participating in enrichment activities, including the following:
o   Developing engaging curriculao   Lesson planning and implementation for each day of Summer School, creating lessons that are scaffolded to support student learning and engagemento   Developing a variety of forms of assessments to evaluate student performance and mastery of enrichment material
●        Uphold MWAUS Summer School policies and expectations:
o   Attendance Policyo   Behavioral Policyo   Family notification regarding student progresso   Supervision dutieso   Friday Experiential Learning opportunitieso   Grading Policy


●        Minimum 1 year of working with groups of 20 or more ethnically and socioeconomically diverse students in a classroom, or after school setting●        Undergraduate, graduate, or K-12 teaching experience in enrichment course areaSkills●        Ability to work collaboratively and independently●        Consistency and timeliness●        Professional and effective communication●        Relationship building and classroom management skills for classroom with students of diverse backgrounds and varying academic skill levels●        Family outreach


●        Teaching credential or teaching intern credential desired●        Students that are  currently in accredited education programs are encouraged to apply

Salary and Schedule

Salary for this position is $2500. Summer School staffing dates are Monday-Thursday at 8:00 AM-11:30 am from June 18th- July 13th. Mandatory Staff Orientation is May 30th.
