Position SummaryThe Program Manager will support the newly created California Teacher Residency Lab (CA TRL) and the California Labor Management Initiative (CA LMI) with approximately 75% dedicated to the CA TRL and 25% to the CA LMI.For the newly created CA TRL, the Program Manager will serve as the primary link between the 18 teacher residency partnerships formed through the 2018 California Teacher Residency Grant Program, funders, consultants, and technical assistance providers and will own the project management responsibilities for the virtual and in-person convenings throughout the year.  This position will be a unique opportunity to connect with top leaders in teacher preparation while building real-time, grassroots awareness of challenges, policy impacts, and trends in the field of teacher preparation.  This work will comprise approximately 75% of the position.The Program Manager will also work with the Senior Project Director for the CA LMI to support the initiative through event coordination, partner outreach and communication, and project management. This work will comprise approximately 25% of the position.For both initiatives, we are seeking a Program Manager with strong communication, partnership, and project management skills, a meticulous eye for detail, a strategic mind capable of big-picture thinking, and a commitment to high-quality, inclusive education for all students.The Program Manager will report directly to the CEO and can be based in either the Los Angeles metro area where the CEO is based, or within commuting distance to our Redwood City headquarters in the San Francisco Bay Area. Occasional travel within California will be required.Primary Responsibilities●       Coordinate ongoing collaboration, learning, and communication across the CA TRL among all partner organizations through regular convenings and communication and serve as primary contact for partnership districts and IHEs, funders, consultants, and technical assistance providers connecting them to the appropriate resources and experts as necessary●       Project management of virtual and in-person events in partnership with events management vendor and CA TRL leadership●       Maintain CA TRL website (Google Site) and prepare and send regular email blasts through Constant Contact●       Project manage CA LMI events in partnership with CDE Foundation’s Events Coordinator and Sr. Project Director including content presentations, speaker details, and other tasks as needed●       Work with communications team to craft CA LMI district and partner communications●       Connect CA LMI districts to resources and technical assistance as needed●       General:o   Support research partners to collect and analyze partner engagement and outcome datao   Coordinate content and participation in other CA LMI & CA TRL-related stakeholder conveningso   Represent CDE Foundation as needed at meetings and eventso   Other duties as assigned●       Events:o   Manage planning and execution of several core elements, including Advisory Committees, materials, presentations, registration, etc.o   Contribute to content ideation and planningo   Lead on-site presence of the above elements and others as neededSkills/Knowledge/Background Desired●       Organizational: Outstanding project management skills and attention to detail, with a proven ability to create and execute complex project plans on time and within budget alongside colleagues and external partners. Process improvement experience a plus.●       Strategic: Ability to think and execute strategically, anticipate future consequences and trends, and incorporate them into project plans and partner relationships.●       Content Expertise: Knowledge of California public education systems and structures, with a background in teacher preparation and/or professional learning preferred.●       Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as presentation experience.●       Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google suites and online cloud systems; web streaming/webinar, social media, Constant Contact, and/or graphic design abilities a plus.●       Data Analytics: Experience using Excel for moderate data analytics preferred.●       Budget Management: Experience using Excel to develop, monitor and report on budgets. Attention to detail in order to track invoices against project budgets and manage multiple grant budgets for a project.●       Problem Solving: Ability to quickly assess issues and opportunities at hand and use sound judgement to determine appropriate course of action.●       Flexibility and Adaptability: Skill in managing changing priorities, timelines, and ad hoc requests from colleagues and external stakeholders. Able to work independently and cooperatively in a team setting with our small and dynamic staff, remotely and in person.●       People Savvy: Comfort and skill in communicating and interacting with a range of stakeholders, including off-site staff, board members, funders, external vendors, and partner organization leadership. Proven track record of successful partner relationship management and collaboration.●       Mission and Values Alignment: Desire to work in an organization that makes a positive difference, particularly in California public education. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, feedback-driven, and learning environment.●       Preparation: At least 3-5 years work experience in non-profit, education policy, public administration or related field.
