The School Leader in Residence (SLR) is a unique pathway for teachers to become school-site leaders through a hybrid role of teaching and administration. Our SLRs will work alongside our administrative team to build and maintain a positive school culture through the planning and implementation of programs, activities, and opportunities that instill in our students’ a culture of optimism as well as a college-going identity. In alignment with our school’s mission, the SLR will model a growth mindset through collaboration, innovation, reflection, and a willingness to go above and beyond to meet the needs of all students.This role reports to the school principal.ResponsibilitiesGiven that each individual in the SLR position will have unique responsibilities based on their professional growth path and school needs, responsibilities can include, but are not limited to the following:Teaches at least 1 class as a teacher of record and/or case manages up to 4 students as a Special Education teacher. As determined by the principal, leads instructional team meetings, including weekly reflections on student data. As determined by the principal, coach 3-5 teachers weekly. As determined by the principal, leads operational tasks like test site coordination, transportation, student led conferences, etc. Participates in weekly leadership meetings to align on school priorities and take action to improve student outcomes. Collaborate in tracking student culture data. Collaborate with the Dean of Community Engagement in planning school-wide events. Collaborate in planning student culture activities like end of year celebrations, movie nights, school dances, etc. Support the community engagement team by recruiting new families to join the ACE community during recruitment events and door knocking. Support the Assistant Principal with implementation of MTSS, English Learner accommodations and 504 plans. Collaborates with the Principal and Assistant Principal to plan and execute a professional development calendar for the school site. Collaborate with the administrative team to lead Cafecito meetings with ACE parents. Lead professional development sessions for school site staff, and support with Network Day data dives. Supports with the hiring process of potential candidates. Support with campus supervision and school discipline as needed. Other responsibilities as assigned by the principal or leadership team. Education & ExperienceYou are a current ACE Teacher for at least 3 years. Your experience as a Lead Teacher is strongly preferred. You have at least 3 years of experience as a teacher of record. You have demonstrated success in accelerating student proficiency, as well as growth through differentiated, standards-aligned instruction. Salary & Benefits$70,000-$90,000 starting salary Essential FunctionsThis role is dynamic - there are times when you may be sitting for extended periods behind a computer, and other times when you will be moving between school sites and/or in and out of classrooms for observations.
