Now I know that my kids can have a better future and attend a college or university [because of ACE].”Position SummaryWe are looking for an Assistant Principal to join ACE Inspire Academy! The Assistant Principal is part of a school leadership team that includes the Principal, School Leader in Residence, and Office Manager. Reporting to the School Principal, you will be spearheading school-wide initiatives to build an optimistic school culture that is fundamental to achieving our mission. Given the community we serve, this role demands an equity mindset, believing that all students deserve to succeed in school. You are a collaborator, as this role works closely with all stakeholders-- students, teachers, and families. This role reports to the school principal and direct reports include teachers and campus supervisors.ResponsibilitiesSchool Leadership
  • Under the Principal’s leadership, inspire students, families and staff to achieve the mission of ACE by creating an engaging and vibrant school culture.
  • Lead staff in creating a school community where people feel known, important, and accountable for their role in helping ACE meet our mission.
  • Participates in the Administrative Team responsible for school oversight including student supervision, student activities, and parent outreach.
  • Provide successful supervision of staff through coaching, development of growth plans, and effective implementation of performance evaluation process.
  • Support parent engagement through consistent and informative Cafecitos.
  • Oversee the Special Education department by supporting compliance and managing the Special Education Department Chair.
  • Help all staff work through the particular stresses and challenges of serving our community.
  • Provide successful supervision of staff through the articulation of clear goals, use of job descriptions, coaching, development of growth plans, and effective alignment of staff work to ACE Strategic Plan.
  • Lead the Administrative Team in fostering a culture of transparency, openness, accountability, and stakeholder engagement. Attend school-wide events on a rotating basis.
Instructional Leadership
  • In collaboration with Administrative team, build a school culture characterized by common core-based, data-driven instruction, cross-discipline collaboration, and a relentless focus on increasing student learning
  • Commit to equitable teaching and learning opportunities for all students with dedication to the success of students, their families, and the community.
  • Use data (internal benchmarks, state-mandated testing, college matriculation) to analyze program effectiveness and identify areas of improvement.
  • As directed by the Principal, participate in curriculum development activities that provide opportunities for increased staff expertise and accelerated student learning.
  • Coach teaching staff to improve instruction, assessment, and classroom management
  • Build authentic relationships with students by serving as a mentor; consistently reinforce the belief that all students have the capacity to be successful through college.
 Student Services
  • Oversee the implementation of the MTSS program.
  • Through collaboration with CMO and school staff, ensure regular analysis of student data and that appropriate interventions are established for students via advisory or other interventions.
  • Lead the Truancy intervention process.
  • Serve as the liaison between the MTSS process and the Special Education team.
  • Oversee 504 plan management.
Positive School Culture
  • Oversee development of school site culture calendar, log all events on reporting tool
  • Collaborate with Office Manager to report student retention data monthly
  • Ensures successful implementation of Student Engagement system to create an optimistic culture (PBIS)
  • Manage the Positive Behavior Interventionist to support student check-in’s and ensure students are on track to reach their goals.
  • Build authentic relationships with students and families; consistently reinforce the belief that all students have the capacity to be successful through college.
  • Ensures successful implementation of Student Engagement system to ensure an optimistic culture of high expectations, including but not limited to:
  • Analyzing student engagement and culture data
  • Assisting with training of staff, students, families
  • Processing students sent out of class
  • Running detention
  • Managing the Culture Calendar
  • Provide push-in behavioral support for students and teachers as needed.
Family and Community Outreach
  • Ensure all staff create an environment where parents feel welcome on campus
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure programs and processes are in place to help families be full participants in the success of their students
  • Meet with families as necessary regarding student progress, discipline, college acceptance, or other issues
  • Establish and maintain community partnerships (tutors, internships, etc.) that help students become better prepared to thrive in four-year universities
  • Spearhead the evaluation of current parent outreach programs and facilitate the development of new parent outreach systems that result in increased parent involvement and college readiness
Education & Experience
  • You are a mission-driven individual who has experience working with diverse student populations, including English language learners and students with disabilities.
  • At least 3 years working with students as a full-time teacher. 1 year of teacher-leadership experience is strongly preferred.
  • You hold a bachelor’s degree and have at least one year of school-based leadership experience.
  • Valid California Teaching or Admin Credential is preferred.
  • Your language fluency in Spanish or Vietnamese and English is a plus.

  • Occasionally lift or move up to 30 pounds and climb ladders
  • In terms of vision, have close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time while teaching in-person and/or virtual courses.
